Christmas

The boys absolutely loved Christmas this year! They finally understood what the season stands for. Well, kinda. Logan would go around singing "Happy Birthday Jesus" and they knew Santa was bringing them presents. Even today, Payton saw me uploading the pictures from Christmas and asked for more presents :0) I think we'd all like more presents...and for Santa to bring them! So, Christmas started Christmas Eve with my parents and my Dad's side...til 11pm! Then Christmas morning at the Hunt's (at 8am!) and to see Alvin & The Chimpmunks. Then to the Rice's to finish off our busy holiday. Here are some of the pics...

Hospital Visit

We haven't posted in a while because we haven't had much going on...until yesterday afternoon. I went to get Jackson up from his nap, and he had broken his mobile. He had pulled on the plastic hook shaped bar that went from the crib railing to the mobile and it broke off leaving several jagged plastic parts. I wasn't too worried about it since the mobile didn't really mean much to me. So I picked him up out of the crib and put him on the changing table. And that's when I saw something in his mouth. Here is a picture of what I found...

So, you are looking a the part that attaches to the crib railing. The piece that I am holding is the piece that I pulled out of Jackson's mouth. The part that is missing, is what I was looking for. I tore apart his crib and room trying to locate that missing piece and it was no where to be found. So, I made the assumption that he had swallowed it. It was pretty jagged and the piece I found was pretty sharp. So off to ER I went (which was a feat in itself since Moose was at work). So he had the car and the car seats and I had all three kids with no way to transport them. So my mom came over and I used her hugh truck (which I didn't park straight) and the infant car seat which was too small for him to get us to John C. Lincoln Deer Valley ER. Here are absolutely adorable pictures of him in his hospital gown!

They told me that plastic usually doesn't show up on x-rays, but that is the only non-invasive way to see if he had swallowed it. So we took x-rays, but it didn't show. Because of the shape of the object, the doctor wanted to get the object out, so he recommended an endoscopy. For those who don't know what that is, they put a scope down his throat and into his stomach looking for the object (after the anethesiologist puts him under of course). After all that, they didn't find it!! So, A) he never swallowed it or B) it had already made it's way into the intestines. The doctor who did the scope said that he'd probably just poop it out but there is a small chance (about 1%) that it would get stuck where the small and large intestines meet. So, I am screening his poop and watching for blood in his stool and a distended abdomen (signs that it is stuck). At this point I have to assume he will poop it out, but what if he never ate it? So I may never find that little piece of plastic...I will have to post if I ever find it
Lesson Learned: Remove the mobile from the crib when you child startes to stand on his/her own.

Missing Wedding Rings

I always take off my rings when I shower. I don't like my hair to get caught in the prongs and my lotion always makes them filthy. I put them on the bathroom counter where I will remember to put them back on after I lotion. And that is exactly what I did two days ago, except that Payton was in the bathroom with me and saw me take them off. So, of course, that's what he wanted to play with. I took them away from him and when he wasn't looking, I put them in the same place, but under a washcloth. Later that day, I realized I hadn't put my rings back on after showering. I didn't think anything about it because it's not uncommon for me to forget them. Out of sight, out of mind. So this morning, I went looking for them, and they were gone!! I knew exactly who moved them. Payton has always enjoyed the bathroom. Lots of stuff to get into. In fact, the previous night, I had fished a brand new unraveled roll of toilet paper out of the toilet that had been forgotten to be flushed. And that was my first thought this morning when I realized they were missing. I looked all around the bathroom, but did not find them. I started to cry because I just knew my rings were in the city sewer system!! After church, we had lunch. I went to the bathroom and found signs that Payton had been there again! I keep a formula divider on the counter for Jackson's middle of the night bottle and I noticed that the faucet was dripping and that he had filled the divider (that still had formula in it) with water. Slightly frustrated, I took the divider to the kitchen to clean it out. As I am washing it out, I hear a clank in the sink! I was able to reach down into the disposal and sure enough...There was my wedding ring!! Yeah! At that point I was so relieved to find my wedding ring that I didn't really care if I found my other ring. But when I stuck my finger into the formula mud still stuck in the divider, I found the other ring! Yes!!! So, I think I will be putting my rings in my jewelry box instead of leaving them on the counter.

Wow! It's mid-November!!

I can't believe how close Thanksgiving is!! Don't have much planned. I will no longer working starting that week and my parents are taking Payton and Logan camping in California Wednesday-Sunday. Just me and Jax as I assume Moose will be working quite a bit. So, only one more week of work. Yeah!! Anyways, today I did LOTS of laundry. But I was able to kick back a little bit when all the kids went down for a nap. I scooped a bowl of chocolate ice cream and caught up on So You Think You Can Dance and Glee. My two chick shows Moose would rather not watch. Unfortunately, the kids woke up horribly. They all started crying at once. Once fed though, they calmed down. One of them gave me a surprise today...actually, I take that back. Two of them gave me surprises today. Jackson woke up with poop smeared up his back (which initiated my laundry day) and then one of the older boys (I suspect Payton) unraveled an entire roll of toilet paper into the toilet, which had not been flushed the last time it had been used. Not pleasant.

I went to school on thursday to register for classes only to find out I have to show proof of my vaccinations, negative TB test, CPR for healthcare providers, and a fingerprint clearance card. WOW!! So, I am scheduled to take my CPR class on monday night (since my current certification is not for healthcare providers) and I have to copy all my health records which thankfully are all current. I also have to go get my fingerprints taken at a police station. Fun! I will get a fingerprint clearance card in 6-8 weeks, but I only have to prove that I submitted for it to register. Lots to do next week!!

Hope to see you soon!

Hello All!!

Well, it is 2:50am and I am at work. Ironically enough, I am covering a graveyard shift at Gainey. Well, at least I think it's ironic. Anyways, I had a really rough work week this week and am looking forward to sleeping, getting some errands done, and spending some time with family on Sunday for birthdays. I was able to get my FASFA submitted and it looks like I will be getting a grant for school. I just need to go register for classes this week. I'm really excited to start the MA program at Phoenix College. I finally feel like I am going in a direction in life.
The kids are as usual. Payton is doing well in school. So well that he will be moving to a new class in a week. There will be more kids in this class which will hopefully help him share his space and learn to share and cooperate with his peers. Thankfully, his schedule will remain close to his current schedule. For a while there it was looking like he may have to attend an afternoon class at a different school. We are thankful he gets to remain at Cholla.
Logan is still trying to shake a cold he's had for over 2 weeks. But other than a runny nose, he's pretty much back to normal. He's really been into Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs lately. We just bought the movie and he'll watch it several times a day. He'll say,"Dine-a-saw! It's comin'! Big dine-a-saw." And when he's tired of dinosaurs, it goes to Max N Woo Wee (Max and Ruby).
Jackson is becoming more and more like a toddler than a baby. He is crawling and pulling himself up on his knees. And he will get into anything and everything if you leave him be long enough. He's discovered our house plant (not sure if it's gonna make it) and the VCR. I forgot how exhausting this stage is!!
Moose has been busy at his store and we haven't seen much of each other lately. :0( I can't wait to stop working!! Anyways, he's preparing the store for the holidays and just trying to relax when he can in between work, kids, wife, and errands.
Sorry there haven't been any picture lately. Our digital camera got sand in it when we were in San Diego and now the lens won't focus. Along with the camera, our computer monitor died, and so did our TV. It comes in threesright!! Hopefully that means it's over! Our monitor was under warranty, but as for the camera and TV...who knows when they will get fixed. Moose is not enjoying watching TV on a 12 inch screen. :0)

Well, that's the Hunt's life in a nutshell. Hope you all are doing well!! Happy Fall!

San Diego Trip.

We went to San Diego this past weekend and took Payton and Logan to Sea World and the beach. Boy did they have an awesome time. Logan of course went crazy over seeing the sharks (I will get pictures of that soon as kelly has them) and Payton was elbow deep in cold sting ray water feeding the rays little fish. Here are some pictures.

There was a place to snorkel with the sharks and it was so cool. There were up to 18 in sight at one time. The locals said they had never seen so many. Kelly and Kristy wanted to go but were kinda scared so they laid on top of the boogie boards we brought and I swam pulling them along. Robert was gonna go but the water was to cold for him. :( Here are some of the sharks I got pictures of with a underwater camera I got there.

Potty Training!!

We officially started potty training! Both Payton and Logan! They are doing really well for being two days into it! They have both started to pull down their pants themselves when they have to go. Logan doesn't catch himself quick enough quite yet. Payton will go on demand (because we give them candy if they go in the potty), but won't hold it. It is just as exhausting as I thought it would be. Wish us luck! Maybe I will post pictures soon...

P.S. Thanks Grandma H. for the new potty and Pull-Ups! :0)

7 incredible months

Who would have guessed the crazy incredible ride we went on over the last 7 months. Today I am returning to work after 7+ months off. I lost my job the day after our little premie baby Jackson was born and 2 months after Payton was diagnosed as autistic. For 6 months I got to watch my 3 boys grow up which was such a blessing. All in Gods timing has never been more true. Last week is the last week i could file for unemployment before it ran out. "consider it a great joy whenever you experience various trials...but endurance must run its complete course so you may be complete and mature lacking nothing." James 1:2-4
Thank you to all our friends and family who helped keep us sane through these times. The encouraging phone calls, dinners, letters, the anonymous gifts, suprise parties, and all the love we can never thank you enough. And to my wife. ..... I dont know what to say.... I am crying as I write this because I cant even imagine my life with out you. We had great days and terrible days and a whole lot in between and we are still here. We were attacked, attacked physically, mentally, financially, spiritually, and emotionally and after it all, after those nights we just held each other and cried, after the pain and fear and exhaustion; We...WE...WE picked each other up and rose together pronouncing we will not be defatedand that we are still here! We will not be abused and attatcked anymore. And now the end is in sight and there is a new beginning on the horizon. You are my warrior and my strength and I dont know what the future will hold but you can be damn sure whever we go from now on we will can pronounce
WE ARE STILL HERE!
Here are some of the pictures from my journey over the last 7 months.
