Well, I have to start out by stating that 2 things in the last few days have really irked me. One, that the boys have decided that my contact solution is a fun new toy and a lingering smell in the kitchen that has been haunting me. I've been trying to sniff down that smell for days, somewhere between the dishwasher and the oven. I've taken out the trash, run the dishwasher, poured cleaning solution down the disposal and wiped down all the
counter tops...and the smell lingers. Well...back to tonight. I decide that it's time for the boys to go to bed. Payton did not nap and Logan has been inconsolable for about an hour, but a 7pm bed time makes for a way too early morning (your welcome, honey). So I head to the kitchen to fill the "
bups." With the dishes done and only one last load of laundry to fold, I was looking forward to relaxing after the boys went down. As I enter the kitchen I see the crayon box open and spilled on the kitchen floor and as I get closer, I realize my budding artist (aka Payton) has
decided to make the kitchen tile his new masterpiece. So I go to the sink and reach underneath for the anti-bacterial wipes telling Payton that he should only color on paper and that he'd have to help Mommy clean up the mess he'd made. Well, Payton wanted nothing to do with the wet wipes (we need to up
his sensory therapy that is supposed to be helping with that). It was too much work to make him help me, so I got down on my hands and knees to clean up the scribbles, which lead to more scribbles, and more scribbles, etc, etc, etc. But VICTORY!!! I found that lingering stench!!!!! A bag full of soggy, rotting red potatoes!!! (I have to give thanks to my brilliant husband again, for he told me 2 days before that the kitchen smelled like rotting potatoes.) But my excitement was short lived as I looked up and saw Logan squirting contact solution on the floor...Oh, the joys of being a parent...anybody else want a turn???
